Bannon Jewellers was founded at the height of WWII in 1942, when Michael Bannon Snr opened the first shop on Talbot Street in Dublin. The business flourished in the years that followed, establishing a reputation for providing the highest quality jewellery and exceptional service. Michael Bannon enrolled in the Swiss-Irish School of Horology, and after graduating in 1969 moved to Switzerland to La Chaux de Fonds to work for Omega. On the passing of Michael Bannon Snr, Michael returned home to run the family business during the day, while working as a watchmaker for Dublin's top jewellers at night.
In 1980, Michael Bannon took the brave step to move the business out of Dublin City Centre, to the coastal town of Bray, Co. Wicklow. Here Bannon Jewellers continued to grow and thrive as an established and trusted family jewellery, building lasting relationships with our customers as they chose us to celebrate their important milestones. The business expanded and in 1994 opened a second store, in Blackrock’s Frascati Shopping Centre. In 2003, we moved to our current prominent corner location on the Main Street in the heart of Bray.
In 2012 Michael Bannon Jnr, following a career in architecture joined the family business, having spent the previous 10 years in Paris and Dublin, specialising in luxury interiors. In 2019, we have relocated to a new larger unit in the Frascati Shopping Centre in Blackrock.
